2011 Predictions

A slowdown in the western economy will lead to more pressure on suppliers to retail and manufacturing to work to lower volume orders whilst still being required to hold stock for longer term requirements. This will lead to more demand for storage, which may lead to a requirement for lower storage options.

To reduce risk and exposure, retailers and manufacturers will try and move away from FOB and negotiate VMI programmes requiring overseas suppliers to hold stock in the EU and retain ownership to await call off.
