Import Operator

We’re looking for an Import Operator, to be based at our office in Heathrow. To co-ordinate the movement of airfreight shipments from beginning to end, including customs clearances and deliveries, and will be responsible for developing the business relationship between the company and existing customers.

We work as one team striving to achieve excellence, so you’ll be motivated to develop strong relationships with our Commercial, Warehouse and Transport teams to ensure efficient and effective handling of shipments.

Key Responsibilities

• End-to-end working knowledge of air freight forwarding processes and procedures.
• Customs clearance experience.
• Developing relationships with clients and providing excellent customer service.
• Dealing with internal teams to ensure client KPIs are achieved and exceeded.
• Shipment profitability and margin management.
• Negotiation and relationship-building with suppliers.
• Managing your portfolio of customers in line with agreed operating procedures.
• Creating customer-specific reports.
• Good market awareness.
• Working as part of a team and providing support and cover for colleagues during absences.

Skills & Knowledge

• Background in forwarding / logistics.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Dedicated to providing the highest levels of customer service.
• Team player.
• Robust time management and organisational skills.
• Confident and articulate communicator.
• Good commercial acumen.
• Proficient in using MS Office.
• Familiar with bespoke IT software packages.
• Knowledge of Cargowise would be an advantage.
