Senior AR Assistant

We’re looking for an experienced AR Assistant to be apart of a high performing finance team supporting the UK business to meet challenging revenue, profit and cash generation growth targets.

Purpose of the role. Why is it important to Ligentia?

  • To develop, implement and maintain an effective and professional AR system for the company
  • To develop relationships with key stakeholders, such the bank, trade credit insurer, customers and the UK operational teams.
  • Keep the UK overdue debt under the KPI
  • Customer facing start to end within the Order To Cash/Accounts Receivable function.
  • Responsible for managing the Key Account customer base.

Key Responsibilities

  • End to end process relating to customers including WIP, Debt, invoice and credit note management.
  • On-boarding customers – ensure that company policy is adhered to and are able to proactively support the on-boarding process.
  • Credit insurance management including setting and monitor credit limits.
  • To manage the outstanding sales balances falling due and contact customers before the balances become overdue to confirm payments.
  • Credit insurance management including setting and monitor credit limits.
  • Regular communication with the Account Management team to help resolve any outstanding amounts due.
  • Working closely with Account Managers to keep them informed of the credit status of relevant accounts/customers.
  • Plan and prioritise workload, ensuring that all deadlines are achieved and internal cash collection targets are met.
  • Work with the UK finance & operational teams to understand the procedures and where possible drive improvements.
  • Provide a timely service to all internal and external customers, providing information and answers and ad hoc queries.
  • Proactively keep up to date files and records.
  • Regular interaction with the trade credit insurer and our broker.
  • Supporting the Credit Control Manager with Senior tasks/projects.
  • Help to supervise and mentor a small team.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of Cargowise (ERP) would be advantageous
  • Credit Insurance knowledge is key.
  • Team player, but also able to work independently
  • Confident and competent in the use of computer systems
  • Accuracy and eye for detail.
  • Query resolution
  • Professional attitude with an awareness of both internal and external customers
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Customer focussed and ability to establish good working relationships
  • Proven Senior Accounts Receivable experience in a similar role.
  • Experience working for a freight forwarding company would be desirable.
